The following EMC PowerPath Management Appliance release contains the resolution to this vulnerability: EMC PowerPath Management Appliance version 2.1 Note: The “PowerPath Virtual Appliance” has been renamed to “PowerPath Management Appliance.” EMC recommends all customers upgrade at the earliest opportunity. Workaround: If you are unable to upgrade to EMC PowerPath Management Appliance 2.1, the following workaround may be applied: Disable AMQP port 5672 from external access using "iptables". Log in to the PowerPath Virtual (Management) Appliance as root and execute the following commands: # iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 5672 -s <vApp IP> -j ACCEPT # iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 5672 -s localhost -j ACCEPT # iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 5672 -j DROP Link to remedies: Customers can download software from https://download.emc.com/downloads/DL68867_PowerPath-Management-Appliance-2.1.zip?source=OLS Read and use the information in this EMC Security Advisory to assist in avoiding any situation that might arise from the problems described herein.
